Dolphin Store FRG Guidelines - PDF

About Us:  The Dolphin Store is a non-profit gift store aboard Subase New London operated by Submarine Offcers' Spouses' Association. The Dolphin Store is SOSA’s only year-round fundraiser and all profits are donated to the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation.

Location and Hours:  Located in Building 108 between the NEX furniture store and the thrift shop, we're open Wednesdays & Fridays from 11:00am to 1:00pm  and on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00am to noon.

Merchandise:  The Dolphin Store carries a great selection of submarine- and Navy-themed clothing ... plus home decor, gift items and more!  A large portion of our inventory is handcrafted by vendors around the country, and many items are available for customization and special order.  Also, if you have an artistic or crafty side and would like to have your items sold in the store on consignment, give Jamie or Natalie a call.  We're always looking for new & fresh merchandise, so check back often to see what's new! 

Special Events:  The store is available for your FRG/FSG meetings, Meet & Greets, and other special functions.  Please give us a minimum of two weeks notice, and we’ll be glad to accommodate your group as best we can.  (See our store FRG Guidelines link above.)

Volunteers:  We're always looking for volunteers to work in the store!  Shifts are two hours long, and the work is easy & rewarding. Children are welcome ~ there is a small play area in the back with a chalkboard, exersaucer, play kitchen, and coloring table. All you need to do is shadow one shift to learn the basics of opening and closing, credit card transactions and special orders.  Contact Jamie or Natalie if you'd like to volunteer!

Thank You:  A big thank you to all of our new volunteers and especially to Joy Waite for working behind the scenes to make the store look so fabulous! Thanks also to Brenda Spencer for donating some furniture items.  We're really excited about the store's new look, and the customer feedback has been wonderful!

We've had lots of requests to take the store to FRG meetings and meet & greets in April and May.  If you'd like to schedule a special event for June or later, give Jamie or Natalie a call!  We're busily re-stocking all your favorite items and more new things so we'll have plenty of shopping choices for every group.  Thanks to all of the lovely SOSA ladies who shopped at the April meeting; it was a huge success, and we thank you for continuing to support our efforts on behalf of the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation!

In addition to all the wonderful new inventory, the store also has a fresh new face!  We've had several requests to host FRGs and other special events in the store, so we're making it as cozy as possible!
